Amulet of Love and Sexuality: Flower of Aphrodite
Wear this amulet to invite the power of the Goddess of Love into your life. Wear it to rekindle love, find new love, as a fertility amulet and as an inspiration for the creative process.
The Flower of Aphrodite represents the powerful magic and sexuality associated with the Greek Goddess Aphrodite; also known as Venus in Roman mythology.
Aphrodite is best known as the Goddess of Love, but her real magic is about transformation. The passion of two lovers, uniting as God and Goddess, comes from the power of Aprodite. The muse-like qualities of Aphrodite keep the creative flow of the artist in motion.
She attracts us with both romatic love and sexual passion. She has the power to transform the mundane into something sacred. Although we are helpess while under her influence, we crave the heightened senses and bliss we feel when Aprodite steps into our lives.
The Flower of Aphrodite is made up of six vesica piscis, almond shaped forms which represent the yoni, or female genitalia. The number six represents equilibrium, harmony and balance. Six was known to the Ancients as the sexual number and was sacred to the Goddess Aphrodite.
The Flower of Aphrodite was used as a fertility amulet because of these associations. The cobweb shape surounding the vesica piscis respresents the lure and the trap of the Goddess Aphrodite. Sometimes the Goddess weaves a web of intricate circumstances, to bring two lovers together in blissful ecstasy. Sometimes the Goddess traps us helplessly in unrequited love with all its painful lessons! But without Aphrodite's magic, we can't experience the passion and joys that the mysteries of the heart bring; some to make us human, others to experience the god and goddess within us.
