Besoms of Elder Talisman Pendant with five sacred symbols
The "Brooms of Elder" is made up of five symbols; the pentacle, the broomstick, the elder leaf, the vine, and the circle. It is a beautiful representation for believers and practitioners of the ancient arts. At the center is the Elder leaf. The Elder tree was sacred to the Druids, who created the tree alphabet which was utilized in their mystical, spiritual practice. The Broomstick has been used by wise-women for centuries. They "swept" the evil spirits out of the house after a woman gave birth, to protect the mother and the newborn. The Pentacle is an ancient symbol associated with magic, paganism and all forms of mysticism. Surrounding the pentacle is the circle, symbol of the consecrated space, the center of the Mother. The circle is the primary feminine sign. Wrapped around the circle is the vine, known in the Druidic alphabet by the letter M, for Muin. It is the vine of the Blackberry bush, considered sacred by the ancient peoples. The Wise-Woman Pentacle is for all who hold reverence for the Earth Mother.
"Seven manuscripts are preserved in the British Museum considered to be the fountainhead and storehouse of Cabalistic Magic and the origin of much of the ceremonial magic of medieval times.
These manuscripts are said to have been written by King Solomon and passed on to his son, Roboam, as a testament which should contain all of the wisdom he had possessed prior to his death. The testament was carved on tree bark, and the magical designs were engraved on plates of copper and hidden within the famous "Temple of Solomon". These talismanic designs are taken directly from the "Key of Solomon" or from the later magical grimoires influenced by it. Solomon received his knowledge directly from "Homadiel" the angel of God who granted Solomon ineffable wisdom!
All Talismans have been carefully reproduced and include a black cord with a fully descriptive booklet about their magical properties! All Planetary Talismans are 1 3/8 inches in diameter and made of the highest quality Excelsior (lead-free) Pewter.
